Home Improvements

We spend last weekend IMPROVING our house. I enjoyed it so MUCH!!!!! I am really on a curtain kick right now. A couple of weeks ago, the mini blinds in our dinning room got broken. We will eventually replace them but for now I ran to the dollar store (SOMETIMES I really love that store) and purchased a really cute set of green (well, kinda sage) colored curtains for like about $5. I hung them IMMEDIATELY. I also purchased a curtain set for the bedroom (CHOCOLATE colored - which I guess if going to be the new base color my the bedroom since that's what color of curtains I found). *side note- I am currently and very slowly redoing the decor in the entire house - maybe my color scheme will be based around what color curtains I buy - ha ha* I hung those the very next day. I am still looking for curtains for the bathroom that I like. Haven't really found any I like. I have 2 shower curtains that we switch out. One is green (more for summer time) and the other one is Chocolate.

Another purchase we made was a big cabinet thing. It went in the dinning room to hold things like cup towels, dish rags, the crockpot, and HUGE drink dispenser I also bought this weekend.

Oh my gosh speaking of the drink dispenser - It is a 3.5 gallon dispenser with one of those nozzel things you pull or push to get your drink. It has an ice holder inside of it so that it stays cool but your drink doesn't get watered down. It is SO cute. I made pink lemonade and cut up fresh lemon slices and put them in there - and because it is clear you can really see the lemons! It was precious! I forgot to take a picture. Sorry.

Ok, the last purchase (BUT DEFINETLY THE MOST EXCITING ONE) was a ceiling light for the living room. Please note at this point in the blog that I do not have capabilities to hang a ceiling light in my house. We have been using floor lamps because there is not electricity in the ceiling. But I knew this when I purchased the light. So, guess what WE did....we bought a swag cord and chain that plugs into the wall outlet. We then wired the ligt to the cord and HUNG it on the ceiling and then plugged it into the wall. IT WAS AWESOME. Neither Amber not myself have any electrical sense or knowledge or anything - which made this totally fun and comical - but we did it!!!!!! We were so happy and it looks GREAT!
So, maybe I will take pictures so you can see our handy work. Ha Ha!
