The end of the summer

This summer I kinda started me a list of things I wanted.

1. A JOB - Accomplished.

2. A better job - I got a call from the state on Friday and the job I was waiting to hear about was offered to some other person - blah! Oh well. I will keep looking.

3. A dog - I got Houston Dean. I am not really sure why. But he is mine and I love him. Do I regret it? The jury is still out.

4. To meet my new nephew JAXEN - YEA!!!!!! I got to meet him VERY BRIEFLY last weekend. But it is accomplished. I just adore him!

5. To give my siste a HUG! - I have been just itching to hug her. Just to tell her how very proud I am of her. I got to see what a GREAT mom she is. I got to HUG her. Who knew that one day I would miss her as much as I do! NOT ME!

6. To start and finish my dental work - that is a whole post by itself. It is started but defineatly not finished!

7. To spend some time with Nicholas, Joshua, and Karen - all though our time was short I did get to see hem a few days this summer - I love you guys! Hope you enjoy school this year.

So, starting a new job curbed several of my other plans - like seeing my grandmother and doing some light traveling - but it was a well needed change!

I did get to spend a lot of time with Brenn which I wouldn't change for the world - all though it was really funny listening to girls whisper about how cute he is and if they should ask him out.

Anyway, it has been a great summer. I am really hoping for a great fall!

13 Years!

Well, it happened! Brennen turned 13 this weekend. Oh my goodness! I don't even know what to say.

Brennen - you mean the world to me! I hope that you know that! I love you so so much!

These were just a few photos I had REALLY handy! My how you have grown. Who can believe that I have been a mom for 13 years? Not me! Anyway, just wanted to say I love you!

Glad tomorrow is Thursday

Wow! I have had an eventful week.

On Monday I worked for 1 hour (at 6:00am). Then I left and went to my dentist appt in Artesia. The dentist stated that I was definately his challenge for the month. I went in because My teeth were KILLING me slowly! Anyway, he pulled the top back and the bottom back molars on the left side. The he reversed 2 root canals and then pulled those teeth. Well, PULL is not the right word. More like, tug, crumble, dig, pry, twist, shake, etc. All of these tactics were used. With in 30 minutes he had the 1st two teeth pulled. Then it took an hour and a half to pull the 2nd two. He ended up having to dig into the jawbone to get one out and then leave the tip of the other in there and hope the gum will just grow around it. The dentist was GREAT!!!!! I did not even cry - which I usually the entire visit starting with the 1st shot. That afternoon, I was in so much pain! Now, even as Wednesday comes to a close I am still in a lot of pain (nothing like on Monday but definately still some). The inside of my mouth is still all tore up and my lip is swollen and discolored. Please send me some healing thoughts and prayers. If the gum doesn't grow around that tip we will have to go back in and dig it out----so please keep me in your thoughts.

On Tuesday, I returned to work. (Probably too soon - but I need my paycheck - starting a new job I have no sick leave!) Anyway, On my "lunch break" I took Houston to the vet for the first time. He got a GREAT checkup. Everything is great and he got is 1st 3 shots. He wieghs 6 1/2 pounds. Then I went home for a nap before returning to work.

Today has also been more productive at work but still really painful. I know that some of you have asked about school - I can't find my tax return papers. I NEED them to fill out the financial aid paperwork. I don't think I can afford to go without it. I have gotten on the IRS website to just look up the info I need but can't find it. UGH! I was supposed to meet with the academic advisor but had to work late that day and had to cancel my meeting. I was going to meet with them this week as a walk in but have been feeling so bad so I haven't. So, I did get approved to attend but I need all of this other stuff to fall into place.

It is late and I have one more day of work tomorrow. I work a shift and a half so basically will be working for 13 hours. Hope my toothless mouth holds up. I better get some rest. Good night!

Houston Dean

This is Houston Dean. He is my new puppy. I have had him about 3 weeks now. A girl at my work bought him for her kids in the beginning of the summer. But now that her kids are going back to school she said she didn't want to mess with him and was getting rid of him. She was having to hide him from her landlord which was a big mess; anyway. She couldn't find anyone to take him and was going to take him to the pound.

I have been wanting a dog for about a year. I don't know why. But I have. I wanted a big dog. But with loosing my job; finances not great; and a lot of other things going on I knew that I did NOT NEED a dog. Anyway, I kinda let it go. But then I heard she was taking him to the pound and my heart sank. I asked what his name was. After 2 months he still didn't have a name. So, low and behold.....the next morning I had a 2 month old puppy!

The good thing is that he is still a puppy and I can train him the way that works for us and not have to untrain bad habits.
The bad thing is that HE IS STILL A PUPPY!!!!!! I don't know ANYTHING about training dogs. The last dog I had BABY BOY who died over a year ago I got when he was already almost 2 years. I did a little training with him but not like this.

So, everyday I am learning and Houston is getting bigger and exploring more and getting in more "trouble". UGH! But he is a very good dog. He is very playful and loveable. He loves to play fetch with his toys. He loves to cuddle and nap beside us (but is not allowed in the bed - YUCK). We just have to work on the pissing and pooping in the house and chewing up everything he finds. Oh yeah and the running out of the yard away from you when you call him kinda stuff.

I am learning that I can not just go and do as I used to. I can not stay gone all day long. My Mom and Scotty have been so good. I love spending time with them on the weekends so they have allowed Houston to either stay in their backyard, in his tote, or in my arms while we visit and play games. He absolutely loves their backyard.

Anyway, Houston has his first vet appt on Tuesday to get his checkup and shots. So, just wanted to share that with you all. Hope you have a great day.

Has it really been a month?

I knew it had been a long time since I had sat down and wrote a post. But really? A month? I guess I have just been kinda busy.

Work is going well. Same thing really. I only have one more training class which will be late in August. But I got to carry over 90% of my training from my last job so that helped out a lot. I have still been working while training so it really wasn't a big thing....but good to know that I am almost done. I like my job for what it is. But I am still on the lookout for something new and exciting.

Which brings me to tell you that I interviewed with the State of New Mexico for a postion as a clerk at the Health Resource Center (Health Office). I haven't heard anything yet but am waiting with positive vibes for a position.

I have really been enjoying Brennen over the last couple of weeks. We have really had some good quality time together this summer. Last week went and tried the new garlic bread pizza at Pizza Hut. It was okay for an appitizer - but not great! I think we are planning to the the new Batman movie today. We have been talking a lot about the beginning of school and kinda seeing what we need to do before then. Brennen is going to spend the next two weeks with his father for vacation. I miss not having him right before school starts!

Speaking of school, I have decided to go back to school this year. I have reapplied at ENMU-R. I have a meeting with some advisors on the 1st of August.

I have a confession! My sister and NEPHEW will be in Roswell on the 18th of August. I am not sure I can wait. I am bursting on the inside with excitement (and trust me sometimes on the outside too).

We have gained a puppy. I saved him from going to the pound when a lady at my work could no longer keep him. He is 2 months old. We have named him Houston Dean. It it definetly a lot of work house training him. But I am doing the best I can and with ALOT of help from Amber who is home while I am working. He is very cute. I will post a picture of him soon.

Gotta run. Busy week.
