A Well Rounded Vacation

A few months ago, I put in for time off. My little sister is having a baby soon and so of course that means, "A BABY SHOWER". I decided that I would try and do this vacation according to MY terms. This meant the following:
1. see everyone I wanted or said, "I should" about.
2. no schedule or time limits - only 2 things had definates:
baby shower Thursday at 7:00 and dinner before that.

So, I left on Friday (when I got around to it). I think it was almost 5:00pm. I drove to Lovington. I had a short but very pleasant visit with my family there. I got to see Rod, Lisa, Court, Peggy, and Missy. It was perfectly timed. I visited for just over and hour and then they had somewhere to be and I needed to make it to Midland before the morning. So, we all left.

On the way out of Lovington before following Rodney's directions, I stopped at....Sonic - of course. After getting a 44oz vanilla Dr. Pepper I hit the highway. I took 2 drinks out of it just after hitting the highway. I remember thinking to myself - "Wow! This is really good!" I then picked it up for a 3rd drink and guess what! No kidding! The entire thing (minus maybe 4oz) splashed and then drown my car and myself! YUCK!!!!! It got everywhere (even in the stinkin' cd player). After wiping up what I could with a t-shirt I had in the back seat I continued my journey (without that really good tasting treat).

I followed Rod's directions and made it safely to Midland. I found 1 of my 2 favorite 4year olds waiting up to greet me!!!!! There is nothin' better than little kisses! After telling Joshua good night I spent some time with Joey. Don't be shocked! That happens when you are the only 2 in the house who stay up later than 10:00pm. Anyway, even after going to bed (about 3:00am) I got no sleep. I think I dozed for an hour before sunrise and maybe an hour after the sun rose.

That morning I went with Karen to suprisingly pick up Nicholas "Short" from a cub scout sleep over. He was so excited. It was fun looking around the petroleum museum for him. It was even better after we found him to look through the gift shop and hear how excited he is about geology and dinosaurs and what not. We ended up purchasing several things. One was a frog (that we named Short to stay on my dash so I will think of him). The other was a small bottle of Peridot stones. This is Brenn's birthstone and since he is always asking me about it, we got him some.

I have pictures from the rest of our day but I am really sleepy now. So, I will tell you more tomorrow - Good night!

It's been a month...

It's been a month since I have bloggeed. Did ya'll miss me? I know I missed talkin'. Lots of bthings have happened. Let's see if I can summarize them i n a short manner:

work - I am not (currently) working with my normal clientel. Usually I work with men with challenging behaviors. For those of you that do not work in this field - that means men who are hard to handle; men who may be violent or verbally aggressive. Well, through a series of events that were out of my control, I am now working with a lady who is calm, fun, nonverbal, and needs full care and assistance with every aspect of her life. I didn't think I would enjoy working with her but I LOVE it. She is so much fun! So this is a positive change.

I have been busy spending some time with some of my family. Two weekends ago, Karen and the boys came down to Roswell. I spent most of the weekend with them. Mainly - shopping and eating. I really enjoyed my time with Karen and getting to catch up. We spent some much needed girl time and really gave our friendship a lot of attention. Before she left we made plans to meet up the following Friday (Good Friday) in Carlsbad with the boys because they were sad that Brennen could not join us this time.

So, that leads me to the next week. I picked up quite a bit of overtime (in order to go on an upcoming vacation). So, after a very LONG work week, I picked up Brennen Friday morning and after running some errands, we headed off to Carlsbad. We met Karen, Nicholas, and Joshua for a chinese lunch buffett. After that, we headed off to Wal-Mart. Joshua just had to have a movie about Easter Egg Hunting. So, "Aunt Jessie" got him one and then Brenn and Nicholas also picked out a movie. After spending WAY TOO LONG in Wal-Mart we headed to President's park. We were in luck because the George Washington Fairy Boat was leaving for it's ride in about 15 minutes. We took the fairy ride (45 minutes). The boys needless to say were done and uninterested by about 20 feet from the dock. We did capture a few good pictures and so some cool houses on the riverside. (I tried to load the pictures but was unable to for some reason...so they will come another time - sorry)

After the fairy ride, the boys put thier feet in the water at the swimming site there at the park. After they started splashing we let them get all in. Brennen and Nicholas swam for about an hour. Karen and Joshua found a playground near by.

When the swimming was done, we went to the great big castle park. There we played with bubbles and watched the kids. Before long, Karen and I joined thier game of hide and go seek tag. Let me tell you, running through the big castle playground chasing the boys through sand and wood chips was hard work. But it was really great fun. After that everyone was tired. We finished up with dinner at Chili's and then all headed home. We really did have a great time. I spent the rest of Easter weekend doing yard work with Brennen and then with some time of stomache bug!!!! YUCK!!!!!!

Anyway, that is my busy last few weeks. More later about my upcoming vacation. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
